What will you study

The compulsory and compulsorily optional subjects within the study programme of Forest Ecology correspond to the content of the branch of study of Forestry for the 2nd degree in all aspects. The subjects follow the knowledge obtained in the programmes of the Bachelor´s degree at the Faculty of Forestry, they include deepening knowledge of special forestry disciplines and they complete a spectrum of knowledge in the subjects focused on the complex knowing of phenomena and processes in forest ecosystems and their use for sustainable forest management with a special focus on their non-production functions.

Application

After successful completion of the study the graduates are ready to solve current problems and challenges connected with forest management, landscape use and nature protection. The graduate of the branch of study of Forest Ecology finds a post in forestry practice, in a whole series of the industry organisations, but also in other connected branches of agriculture, the environment, and nature protection. The graduates are suitable for the sphere of forest management in large-surface protected areas, in European significant areas Natura 2000, and in the management of European significant types of biotopes. Due to a wide range of subjects they succeed in a position of an executive expert in the field as well as in a position of a company manager. On-going language preparation in world languages and specialized knowledge guaranteed by the top internationally recognized scientists enable the graduates to find a job in the same spectrum of study branches abroad and/or continue in their PhD study and successfully assert themselves within the internationalized science and research.
